Refrigerator

It is a device which is used to maintain the temperature of body at a temperature lower than the atmospheric temperature while working in a cyclic process.

The efficiency of refrigerator is denoted by COP.

Let us consider a refrigerator working between atmosphere and body.

Let Q₂ be the amount of heat required to be taken out of low temperature body.

Let Q₁ be the amount of heat rejected to surrounding.

Therefore ( COP) = desired effect
