As per this law if a body A is in thermal equilibrium with body C and another body B is in thermal equilibrium with body C, then body A and body B will also be in thermal equilibrium with each other. Or in other words all these three bodies will be in thermal equilibrium.

This law gives the basic definition of temperature measurement. Further this law may be defined as two bodies lying at different places which are not in contact with each other and at same temperature are in thermal equilibrium.
